Fairway Investments is pleased to announce President and CEO, Michael D. Thompson as a 2023 Alabama Business Hall of Fame inductee. The Alabama Business Hall of Fame was established 50 years ago to honor business leaders in the state of Alabama who have “brought lasting fame to the state of Alabama through their business and community contributions.” Mr. Thompson joins a distinguished group of Alabama business leaders who have made a lasting impact on their communities through their entrepreneurship, civic leadership and philanthropic endeavors.
A staple in both the Birmingham and Alabama business community, Mike Thompson served as the president and CEO of Thompson Tractor Co. Inc. for over three decades. Mr. Thompson remains chairman of the board for Thompson Tractor Co. and currently serves as president and CEO of Fairway Investments. His commitment to serving his community through charitable work and board service is remarkable. Mr. Thompson is actively involved with Forever Wild Foundation, the UAB Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital, United Way, Salvation Army, UAB Health System, Business Council of Alabama, Coalition For Regional Transportation, Mountain Brook Board of Education, Shoal Creek and Quarterbacking Children’s Health Foundation.
